Marie Dvorakova, the programming director of the Czech Center New York approached me with a brilliant idea. She wanted to create an exhibit of movie posters designed by mid-century well known Czech designers and artists. The posters were to be borrowed from the Czech National Archives in Prague and transported to New York City for them to be exhibited in the Czech Center New York. Oh my God! How exciting!!

After many ideas and drafts I presented to the board of directors of the Czech Center New York we agreed on this simple visual language drafted from a poster by designer Karel Vaca for the movie 'Sladký život [La Dolce Vita]' by Frederico Fellini, 1962.

In the same time of this exhibition, Museum of the Moving Image in NYC holds their annual festival of an new European film Festival Panorama Europe 2017. Movie theater in Czech Center New York is off-campus venue where many of the European movies had has their New York premieres.
